UPI Transactions Reach All-Time High of ₹29.9 Lakh Crore in May

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) reported that the total value of transactions conducted in April reached ₹29.03 lakh crore, compared to ₹25.14 lakh crore during the same month last year. This indicates a significant growth of 19% on an annual basis.

This increase in transaction value reflects the continued expansion of digital payment methods in India, driven by initiatives aimed at promoting cashless transactions and enhancing financial inclusion. With the rise of platforms such as Unified Payments Interface (UPI), which has also seen a surge in usage, consumers and businesses are increasingly adopting digital payment solutions.

Additionally, the NPCIs ongoing efforts to innovate and improve payment infrastructure have contributed to this growth, which is essential for supporting Indias evolving economy. The organization continues to work on various projects to further enhance the payment ecosystem in India, creating a more robust and accessible digital finance environment.
