Uttar Pradesh Recognized as Leading State in PMs Solar Power Initiative, Reports UPNEDA
According to data from the national portal, Uttar Pradesh has reached a significant milestone with a total of 448,233 cumulative rooftop solar installations, ranking third among all Indian states in terms of capacity. This achievement reflects the state’s commitment to renewable energy and efforts to harness solar power as part of its broader energy strategy.
Rooftop solar installations contribute to reducing reliance on conventional energy sources and are essential for meeting the increasing energy demands of the state’s population. The Indian government has been actively promoting solar energy through various incentives and policies, aiming to enhance energy security and reduce carbon emissions.
Uttar Pradeshs position in the national rankings indicates the effectiveness of these initiatives, as well as the growing interest from both residential and commercial sectors in adopting solar technology. The state continues to work towards expanding its renewable energy capacity, aligning with Indias target to achieve 500 GW of renewable energy by 2030.
