West Bengal to receive ₹3,000 crore for healthcare improvement; Ayushman Bharat card rollout set for July, announces CM Suvendu Adhikari.

The Chief Minister announced that the state is preparing to sign a formal agreement with the Central Government in New Delhi to facilitate the inclusion of the state in the Ayushman Arogya Mandir network. This initiative aims to expand the healthcare benefits of the Ayushman Bharat scheme to migrant residents of the state.

Ayushman Bharat, launched in September 2018, is a flagship healthcare program by the Indian government designed to provide health insurance coverage to economically vulnerable populations. By integrating with the Ayushman Arogya Mandir network, the state intends to ensure that migrants, who often face challenges in accessing healthcare services, receive the necessary support and medical coverage.

The agreements execution is expected to enhance healthcare accessibility for a significant segment of the population, particularly those who may lack regular access to medical facilities due to their transient status. This move aligns with the governments broader goal of strengthening healthcare infrastructure and services for all citizens. Further details regarding the timeline and specific benefits for the migrant demographics will be outlined upon finalizing the agreement.
