NEET SS Counselling 2025: Round 1 Seat Resignation Permitted Without Security Deposit Loss; Official Notice Released.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has introduced a special provision allowing eligible candidates to resign from their Round 1 NEET Super Specialty (SS) seats without forfeiting their security deposits. This initiative is aimed at providing added flexibility for candidates who may wish to reconsider their allotted seats.

The resignation process will be available from July 31 to August 4, 2026, and must be completed online by the respective college authorities through the MCC portal. This decision has been positively received by the Federation of All India Medical Association, which believes it will benefit many candidates by providing them with the opportunity to make more informed choices regarding their medical education.

The NEET SS exam is a critical assessment for postgraduate medical students seeking admission to super specialty programs in India. By allowing seat resignations without financial penalties, the MCC aims to enhance the overall counseling experience and support candidates in making decisions that best suit their career goals. Further details and official notices regarding the process can be accessed on the MCCs official website.
