NTA to Re-conduct UGC-NET Exams for English, Sociology, and Commerce Following Complaints
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that it will re-conduct the UGC-NET examinations for the subjects of English, Sociology, and Commerce. This decision comes in response to complaints regarding errors in the initial exam papers that were administered.
The NTA has formally acknowledged the issues that prompted the cancellation, including significant typographical errors and content inaccuracies in the examination materials. Notably, errors in question phrasing and incorrect answer options have been highlighted in various reports.
As part of the corrective measures, the NTA has also recently released answer keys for a total of 84 subjects covered in the UGC-NET exams, allowing candidates to review their responses against official guidelines. The UGC-NET (University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test) is a critical examination for determining the eligibility of candidates for the role of assistant professor, as well as for the award of Junior Research Fellowships (JRF) in Indian universities and colleges.
The rescheduling of the exam is expected to impact a significant number of aspirants and aims to restore confidence in the examination process. The UGC-NET exams are highly competitive and play a crucial role in shaping the academic careers of many candidates in India.
Further details regarding the new exam dates and procedure for the re-conducted tests are expected to be released by the NTA shortly. The NTA’s commitment to maintaining the integrity of its examination process will be closely monitored by candidates and educational stakeholders alike.
