During a recent address at Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC) in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made headlines with several pointed remarks directed at his critics, referring to them as ‘dimaagi naxals’ and alluding to their opposition as an “OG problem.” This language suggests he views his adversaries as entrenched in old ways of thinking, resistant to change.

Modi also revisited his previous statements regarding “half water, half air,” a phrase he utilized during an earlier speech about innovation and resource management, marking the anniversary of its first use 13 years ago. He highlighted how India’s economic policies have evolved since then, underscoring his government’s achievements in boosting GDP and infrastructure.

Additionally, Modi took the opportunity to critique the opposition, suggesting they have failed to understand contemporary challenges, while also emphasizing the importance of national security in light of ongoing tensions with Pakistan.

In addressing Rahul Gandhi indirectly, he highlighted the concept of ‘jhooth ki goonj’ (echoes of lies), sounding a cautionary note against the entrenched ‘mai-baap’ culture which he associates with political dynasties and unproductive governance.

This speech aligns with the BJPs ongoing strategy to consolidate support in the lead-up to upcoming elections, aiming to engage younger voters and reaffirming the governments position on key issues such as economic growth and national security.
