Telangana Government to Approve Cheyutha Pensions for 4.5 Million New Beneficiaries

The Telangana government has announced plans to extend the Cheyutha pension scheme to an additional 4.5 lakh beneficiaries. This initiative aims to provide financial support to women from marginalized communities, enhancing their economic stability and empowerment.

The Cheyutha scheme, which translates to “support” in Telugu, was originally launched to assist women aged 18 to 60 who belong to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and Other Backward Classes. The government has recognized the importance of this program in improving the livelihoods of women and has decided to expand its reach significantly.

Officials have stated that the new beneficiaries will receive a monthly pension of ₹1,000, which is intended to help them meet their basic needs and improve their quality of life. The decision to sanction these additional pensions reflects the governments commitment to social welfare and its focus on uplifting women in society.

The Chief Minister of Telangana, K. Chandrashekar Rao, emphasized the importance of empowering women through financial independence. He noted that the Cheyutha scheme has already made a positive impact on the lives of many women, enabling them to contribute to their families and communities.

The government is currently in the process of identifying eligible beneficiaries and ensuring that the funds are disbursed efficiently. This expansion of the Cheyutha pension scheme is expected to be implemented in the coming months, providing much-needed support to thousands of families across the state.

In addition to the Cheyutha scheme, the Telangana government has introduced various other welfare programs aimed at improving the living standards of its citizens. These initiatives reflect a broader strategy to promote social equity and economic development within the state.

Overall, the decision to sanction pensions for 4.5 lakh new beneficiaries under the Cheyutha scheme marks a significant step towards enhancing womens empowerment and addressing the needs of vulnerable populations in Telangana. The government remains committed to ensuring that these initiatives lead to tangible improvements in the lives of those who need it most.
