Union Cabinet Approves New Railway Lines in Andhra Pradesh with an Investment of ₹9,889 Crore

The newly constructed third and fourth railway lines spanning 198 kilometers between Rajahmundry and Visakhapatnam are set to enhance transportation connectivity to significant ports in the region. This development is anticipated to facilitate improved access to various tourist destinations, which may lead to increased economic activity. Furthermore, these lines are expected to contribute an additional freight capacity of approximately 29.04 million tonnes per annum, thereby supporting local industries and promoting trade efficiency.

These upgrades are part of a broader initiative by Indian Railways to modernize infrastructure and strengthen logistics networks, ultimately aiming to foster regional development and improve the overall travel experience for passengers and businesses alike.
