West Bengal Government to Launch Annapurna Bhandar Program, Discontinue Religion-Based Schemes
The Annapurna Bhandar initiative received approval during the second Cabinet meeting of the new Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, which took place nine days after the Chief Minister and five other ministers were sworn into office.
This initiative aims to enhance food security and nutrition for the underprivileged sections of society by providing essential food items at subsidized rates. The programs implementation is expected to bolster the governments commitment to welfare and support for economically disadvantaged communities.
The Cabinet meeting addressed various issues, setting the stage for subsequent policies and initiatives that align with the BJP governments agenda. Further discussions are anticipated in upcoming sessions to ensure comprehensive strategies for social welfare.
